p&g earnings call

What the central bank can do to prevent the threat to its independence becomes more transparent. They can announce the votes of individual board members on all matters related to the policy and publish the minutes without delay. They can hold more press conferences and be less trite in explaining their policies. They can avoid debate on issues far from their task. They can admit that politicians have a right to determine the central bank's mission objectives. This sharp reversal contrasts with the flattening of the previous yield curve. But to increase political accountability and to sacrifice the independence of the central bank is to throw the baby out of the bath. Monetary policy is complex and technical. Handing control to politicians is more prudent than handing over keys to the country's nuclear power plants. Because economists understand earnings as actual material wealth increase, accounting experts think the output value of more than the difference between the input value is profits, there is a contradiction and two kinds of income concept. The specific performance is: On November 11, 1997, the bank of England took a big step towards independence, politely revising the "banking law" of 1946 and reading it in the lower house. The bill passed legislation affirming that Gordon Brown, the Treasury secretary, freed government control from the central banking business. This is the hallmark of an institution that has been under the yoke of government for a century and a half. It symbolises how demand for central bank independence becomes conventional wisdom.
