"Piles", (hemorrhoids), are abnormally enlarged and dilated veins (mainly veins) round the anus. There are two kinds of piles; internal and, external. People suffering from internal piles have bleeding inside the anal area. In external piles, there isn't much blood but since they occur outside the anus it might become very painful.
