Wow, it’s been awhile since we’ve featured a real Glö-bie vite and site! So I’m super pleased that this post is about Crystal and Scott – who are adding all sorts of fun twists on tradition for their wedding celebration…read below to find out more!
Crystal, a small business owner (we love female entrepreneurs!) & Scott, a power engineer
Celebration Date & Location:
The Eagle Tree Lodge in Agassiz, BC, Canada in September 2010
Tell us how you got engaged:
We pretty much knew when we met that we were going to end up getting married and sort of skipped the whole proposal thing. I don’t even have an engagement ring as we chose to get a puppy instead! (major awwww!)
What’s the overall ‘feeling’ you’re aiming for with your celebration:
We are aiming to have a day that is totally reflective of who we are and the things we enjoy that we can share with our friends and family. Keeping this in mind has allowed us to get past any fear of “what people will think” and just do what we want. Hot pink wedding dress? Why not? Mismatched, brightly coloured table runners made from Indian sari fabrics? Sure! Already some of our family members don’t seem to know what to think of the whole thing but I hope that when they see it all come together it will erase any doubts they may have had.
Are you adding any fun twists on tradition:
We’ve removed anything that didn’t fit with who we are- the garter toss, the first dance, the white dress, etc. I’m having a hot pink, 50s/60s style gown custom made. (We can’t wait to see photos!) We’re walking each other down the aisle as we have been through a lot in our relationship but have always faced everything together. We’ll be walking down the aisle to a Tegan and Sara song that is meaningful to us (“Take Me Anywhere”). Just to name a few things.
Now show us your Glövites and Glösite!
Any good planning tips and tricks:
I’m not especially well organized and am prone to procrastination so I highly recommend doing the opposite! There are a lot of things I wish I’d done months ago and not left until the last minute. The big day sneaks up on you quickly. I am glad we chose to use a Glösite/Glövites because it is so easy to keep track of guests.. it’s truly my only semblance of organization!
What’s the biggest “SAY WHAT?” moment you’ve had since you started planning:
I really love all things Indian so I had it in my mind to get some brightly coloured/possibly sparkly fabric to make some table runners out of. I figured I could just go into an Indian cloth store and pick some out. After finding about 10 different fabrics that I wanted a few metres off of, we were not so kindly informed in front of everyone in the store that the fabrics were sold in sets of 3 prints to make the different parts of a suit and that we could not just buy a metre here or there. We were pretty embarrassed and not sure why they waited that long to say something when we obviously didn’t know things worked differently. We ended up finding a second store where the staff was much friendlier and helpful to make our purchases.
How crazy-fun does this wedding sound?? Congrats you two! We can’t wait to see all the brightly coloured photos! For those of you who are drooling over the cute countdown these guys used on the front page of their site – check out TickerFactory where they made it.

Woah this weblog is great i really like studying your articles. Keep up the great paintings! You already know, lots of persons are searching round for this information, you can help them greatly.
Please let me know if you’re looking for a article author for your weblog. You have some really good posts and I believe I would be a good asset. With every thing that appears to be developing throughout this subject matter, many of your viewpoints tend to be very refreshing. However, I appologize, but I do not subscribe to your entire idea, all be it stimulating none the less. It seems to everybody that your opinions are not entirely justified and in reality you are your self not even thoroughly confident of the argument. In any event I did enjoy looking at it.
Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your weblog? My website is in the exact same area of interest as yours and my visitors would certainly benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this ok with you. Thank you!
My partner and I stumbled over here coming from a different website and thought I might check things out. I like what I see so now i’m following you. Look forward to checking out your web page yet again.
Do you have a spam problem on this website; I also am a blogger, and I was wanting to know your situation; we have created some nice practices and we are looking to swap techniques with others, be sure to shoot me an email if interested.
Hey! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be ok. I’m absolutely enjoying your blog and look forward to new updates.
Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?
Hey there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
I’m curious to find out what blog system you have been working with? I’m experiencing some small security issues with my latest blog and I would like to find something more risk-free. Do you have any solutions?
With almost everything that appears to be developing inside this specific subject matter, a significant percentage of opinions are generally somewhat stimulating. Having said that, I appologize, but I can not give credence to your whole idea, all be it stimulating none the less. It would seem to us that your commentary are actually not completely justified and in simple fact you are generally yourself not really wholly convinced of the assertion. In any event I did appreciate looking at it.
Hi there! I’m at work browsing your blog from my new iphone 4! Just wanted to say I love reading your blog and look forward to all your posts! Carry on the superb work!
Howdy, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any support is very much appreciated.
Hey there! Someone in my Myspace group shared this site with us so I came to take a look. I’m definitely enjoying the information. I’m bookmarking and will be tweeting this to my followers! Great blog and fantastic style and design.
Hi there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Currently it seems like WordPress is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your webpage? My blog site is in the exact same niche as yours and my visitors would really benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Cheers!
